The reason the DM ordered the attack on the Temple was to DESTROY Spyro's egg to eliminate a threat before it was fully fledged. Cynder's egg was not mentioned in prophecy, and only a dragon that was to be born in that year seemed able to carry out Malefor's plans (according to Ignitus in ANB).
He couldn've had Spyro under his control, but perhaps he didn't want the competition of a second dragon like him...

question: why did the dark master want spyro dead?

answer: because spyro would be the only dragon strong enough to defeat him FALSE

the correct answer is because he didnt want anyone going to the bicentenial dragon ball in the same colour suit, that would just be embarassing

but by the time they delivered the egg he wasnt hungry because he had eaten a few enslaved manweresmalls. Not knowing what to do with the egg, he had a monkey hatch it. Then, being rather bored with his spending in a black hole, he rased the dragoness for gits and sniggles. He really diddn't intend for her to hunt for Spyro and the guardins when he said, "Where's the dragon? Where's the dragon? BOO! There's... wait where the heck did she go?"

i dont think anyone is "bombing" on you, however, it may have been best for you to get all your facts straight before making a thread about this, for example, i havnt played the new games at all, so i wouldnt make a thread asking about this

also i think the darkmaster felt like an omelette, cuz he was hungry, but not too hungry y'know? so he only needed one egg

Yeah...and Ratchet he'd just do the same thing he did to Cynder with the other eggs by corrupting them...it's something he did that made them corrupted...remember..she wasn't evil and a adult..she was used and some sort of "magick"Made her older and that way...she didn't know..kinda like in Final Fantasy VII:Durge of Cebres...Deepground tught these people only to kill they didn't know.

Spyro's egg wasn't there when the Dark Master's forces arrived. Ignitus took it first.

well, maybe one of the dragons might of not grew up to be evil, the corruption didn't work, then that dragon might of converted the other dragon. In other words, the DM thought that 2 or more dragons might overpower him, while 1 wont.
But no one knows for sure why he didn't steal more eggs. And yeah, Brom's right, he couldn't of stole Spyro!

...have you seen the cutscean? Ignitus left with spyro's egg moments BEFORE the darkmasters forces pwned the guardins. And the resion he smashed the other eggs was because he belive that in removing all the others he would have managed to kill of the purple dragon before it was born. [but, if your remember a line before, Ignius already ran off with the egg]

And for the resion he kept Cynder was to have her free him, and who does'nt want an evil dragoness as a servent?

...wait... I diddn't anser the question. Resion DM diddn't take two eggs is because it would be too much to feed. Perhaps he was hopeing for a apprentince [tradidtion is you can't have two apprenteses]. Fact is we don't know exactilly why he diddn't just runn off with the eggs instead of smash them. [inless Im missing something]

Why did Darkmaster take 1 egg, but didn't take BOTH eggs so he would of had a better chance of catching Spyro? He could of HAD Spyro in his hands.
I mean, that was a stupid thing he did back there.
Anyone agree with me?
By the way, we are talking on a litteral level, so no obvious stuff.
