I prefer the old series better than TLoS. There more fun and there not as serious.

Yeah, but some people think that the storyline in The Legend of Spyro is more developed, and thus more creative. I think that this is true, but the originality and creativity were in the gameplay of the original Spyros.

The Originals had more originality to them. TLOS seems to be a typical dark storyline. There's not really much creativity to TLOS.

Yeah, I think I would have liked The Legend of Spyro a lot better if they kept some of the old storyline and put in an open world, with maybe at least some collectibles and Gems.

Maybe TLOS Spyro IS that thick. Sparx would have surely been weirded out that Spyro Looks Far different than his parents, or maybe sparx thought that you start off like that and turn into a normal dragonfly, maybe he thought he looked like Spyro.
Who knows but i agree, its pretty plotwholed (no offence to TLOS though)

I guess so, it just seems very cliche to me, and I never thought Spyro was that stupid.

getting raised by different animals and thinking your one of them is a classic cliche in stories. Eg. Tarzan he was raised by Gorilas. I Believe that spyro is pretty stupid too but i have gotton used to it. TLOs story is so good that you dont worry about things like that.
Oh and when i said that i didn't mean that TLOS had no colours, texture, story ect

You just gotta think. He's never seen anyone else of his type before. He opened his eyes up to dragonflies. Now if you go deep into it, I'm sure he rose up questions about why he looked different, but parents always lie - you know that. And of course he fell for it with him being so young.

For one, The originals have a clear reason for why Spyro is the only one for the job, Something which no other Spyro games (Besides TLOS) explain. Maybe in Later games the only reason may be because he's a hero, i wanteed that...
Anyway, The Orginals had AWESOME graphics for its time, VERY GOOD for the PS1, it had lots of colours and textures but still didn't burn your eyes. In Spyro 2 and 3, each level had its own story. There were many species and enemies, Graphical Glitches were Very rare.
My Definition of A game with nothing but gameplay would be a one with Grey or lack of colours, Only one texture, no story, one enemy and specie etc
Saying the originals was nothing but gameplay is not right at all.

Yeah, the story in The Legend of Spyro is good as well, except there are many elements to it that I do not like. For example, the fact that he was raised by dragonflies kind of annoys me, because I cannot see how he is so stupid that he did not realize it earlier.

If this thread does not do very well, I guess it does not matter much. I just made it to attempt to get people to argue it out in here, instead of in other threads.

I personally think that the level design in the old Spyro games were much better, and the characters were much more memorable. One thing that really bugs me about the new games, are that it has linear gameplay. No free roaming world, linear (one way only) levels, and no returning to previous levels.

the new spyro is good but i prefer old. The levels in old are funner and it has better characters.
