Here's a creepy (and possibly illogical, but what the heck) idea. Maybe in some way the mountain IS the dark master? Sounds weird, I know, but I recall reading a book entitled The Scent of Magic, part of the Doomspell trilogy, in which a living creature took on a form very much like a mountain,. It#s body was made of tunnels and caverns. Maybe in some way the mountain of malefore is more than just the dark master's prison. Maybe he's imprisoned within his own body in the FORM of a mountain, kind of like

Yes you're right it looks very similar to theDark Master.

I think it was made to look like Dark Master. The top of it is clearly a dragon head.

Well, I think that was the intention - he named the mountain after himself to begin with, so of course he's going to be conceited enough to model the giant hunk of rock similar to his visage. Although at first I thought it looked like a gaping bulldog with horns, it was so flat-faced...

Hey when I was playing TEN I noticed that the Mountain of Malefor looks kinda like the Dark Master doesn't it?
