The stuff on Hunter's arm is not machinery. Remember, the LoS world is not that technologically advanced. He's wearing armor and an arm gauntlet to protect his wrists when firing arrows.

I wouldn't be so sure; just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, and the original Spyro had plenty of sci-fi elements. Maybe Avalar has more advanced technology, or maybe the arm is magic rather than machinery. Nothing can be ruled out yet.

If it is only armor, I'm wondering why he only has it on one arm. What good is it if the rest of him is unprotected? It looks like he might have a breastplate too, but he still has many vulnerable spots. It's kind of overkill as a wrist guard for archery, and it looks like he's got one of those on his left hand anyway. This would be explained if it was some sort of artificial replacement limb. Or perhaps it's armor that has been enchanted to give him an edge in archery.

...Or maybe it's just to look cool, and I'm reading too much into it.

I didn't notice until recently that the picture on the Lair's splash page is a little different from the one in the game; aside from being cropped so you can't see his left arm or leg (I'd forgotten they were even in the picture until I looked up the video to compare), it's got a few more details: there are more knobbly things on his armor, and I think he's wearing a hood now. I don't know if these things are very interesting to anyone else, but they are to me. XD
