It's main use, as Spyrorocks stated, is to encourage members not to go nuts in the Spam forum and let things get out of hand. In the long run, the gem penalty is not major, but it's enough to let people know to post sparingly.

However, everytime you edit a post, you also lose gems.

It kind of sounds nasty to just forget a simple thing in your posts and having to pony up "10 shiny gems" (as used to say) to fix it.

Its not a glitch or a bug, I Hardcoded the forum to take gems away for posts in the spam forum.

You don't have to spend gems. Go in Spyro Art Request Forum and ask.

Well, I hope this can be fixed soon. I was planning on spending my gems on a new signature but it looks like I can't until this is fixed.
