Red is a great villain.

Blink was the my fav chars Blink because of his gloves.

Wow, I'm surprised to see how many people hated this game. I loved it.

But then, I never got to play the earlier ones (aside from a couple hours of the original Spyro at a friend's house...) so it was also the first one I played all the way through. Also, I played it on Gamecube, not Xbox...

Anyway, on topic, I liked Hunter quite a bit. :3 His levels were a lot of fun, and I liked his voice and personality. I don't mind Sgt. Byrd, but his mini-games annoyed the living daylights out of me.

My Favorite Character: Sgt. Byrd

The Ones I Liked: Red, Blink

The Ones I that seemed okay: The Elders, Hunter, Flame, Spyro

The Ones I think were not very good: Bently, Sparx, Ember

The Ones I Hate: Ember, Gnasty, Ineptune, some random Mammoth, Moneybag (Who doesn't hate moneybags? )

Don't forget about Spyro. With out him you wouldn't be able to play the game.

I pretty much hated everyone in this game with very few exceptions (I was indifferent towards Red and the fairies). The only characters I liked outright were Zoe (because she's so drunk; it was hysterical XD), the Ice Princess, and Teena. Teena was, by far, my favorite.

OFFTOPIC:
Is it just me or does it look like Red is Flame and Embers' dad?
Ember has the purple scales down her back and the sort-of slingshot-like horns, no?
And flame..No need to explain him-- He's red-colored. =]
(I believe Flame & Ember are in fact family. They seem the same age, and maybe they came from the same group of eggs. :0)
