I'll list by genre's I guess.

RPG: Final Fantasy X, it's a good game to beginners and experts alike.
FPS: Metal Gear Solid is ok, but that's more of a FPS/TPS. Not many Good FPS games on the PS2.
RTS/Strategy: Best I have seen is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Games... heh.
Sports: Madden's
Racing: Gran Turismo's
Just good ol' fun: Any game.... basically, it's all in your interest... or your family members interest (if it's for them).

The other 3 are all the 3 Devil May Cry games. Those are really fun In #2 Dante runs on walls and does back flipps and shoots stuff... <D Pure fun. That is if you can handle things popping out of nowear attacking. Those games may not be for patents who may suffer from heart attacks...
