i guess i might rent TLOS series soon just to see what its like but im not really expecting much of it especially compared to the origanal triology.

Spyrojoe, i am just moments away from reporting you To Spyrorocks. I know video games change but the TLOS change wasn't very neccesary.

A few problems there...
Insomniac Story: 6/10 (O Common, it wasn't that captivating in Spyro 1, but Spyro 2 had a tonn of cutscnenes aswell as those intros and exits into levels (Telling us that the goodies are in trouble in the start of the level, and that they have won at the end), besides, Spyro 3's Story was nice aswell. they werent graphically impressive because of the playstation's compabilities for the most part, neither did the story play a major role, but it was still better than just a 6)
Insomniac Characters: 4/10 (Now this really *bleep*ed me off, the characters were waesome in the insomniac era, they had a personality, a story, a comic taste, very unique and just plain grate, DONT GIVE THEM A 4!)
TLOS Characters And Story: 15/10 (okay, WTF, the story and characters may be good, but they are not better than perfect as you put them here... if i were to make a Spyro game, i would make it epic (but not dark) though i would still keep insomniac's characters and their personalities, even if insomniac's characters deserve a 4 like you say)
Insomniac and TLOS Graphics: 6/10-8/10 (Thats a little shallow, they were made years apart)
TLOS Negative: The Same thing with its story, give it a 1 and be done with it, no negatives
Music: Much prefered Originals

I cannot quite say. Why don't we all think about it and score them? Anyway, here are my comparing scores.
Insomniac.
Gameplay 10/10
scenery 10/10
replay ability 10/10
game setup 10/10
graphics 7/10
storyline 6/10
characters 4/10
has the right difficulty 8/10
originality 9/10
music 8/10
overall 8.2/10

TLoS.
gameplay 4/10
scenery negative 5/10 what is with the psychedelic garbage?
replay ability negative 7/10 please with the linear playthrough crap
game setup 3/10 I don't like non-free roamers with no post story play.
graphics 8/10
storyline 15/10
characters 15/10
has the right difficulty 3/10 goes from too hard to too easy and back again.
originality 4/10 *bleep* apes level after level..... j ...just no, no got dang way.
music 7/10 most is good but it could sway from depressing to upbeat.
overall 4.7/10

The fatal flaw with TLoS is that the story is so captivating and you like and care for the characters and want to see what happens to them so much that the never ending apes, dark psychedelic scenery, and overall depressing repetitive feel make the whole game seem like an annoying tedious chore to get through just so you can see what happens in the story. That's the feeling I get.

My ideal game.
gameplay insomniac
scenery insomniac
replay ability insomniac
game setup insomniac
graphics TLoS
storyline TLoS definently
characters TLoS the most important part
the right dificulty insomniac
originality insomniac
music parts of both

I would go with insomniacs, but the TLoS storyline and characters mean far too much to me.

in my opinion, music doesn't make a game, but me and a whole lot of people adored Stewart Copeland's tunes anyway

XD It looks like crap.THe 2 were the same graphics and nothing changed really.And It got really sad.But I like the music..I'm listening to that dark forest music in TEN.

Great Story, some new characters and a bit more graphics aswell as some orchestral music is not what i call a "Freaking awesome Job"
