My pet Greyhound,Windy,was hit by a car 2 years ago.I cried for 3 days,I loved her so much.We had her for 10 years.We rescued her. She was a retired racer.I still cry for her every once and a while,because I shared a special bond with her. :'( :'( :'( Now we have a Labrador named Sydney,and I don't feel sad anymore.And for some reason I always listened to The Fray Over My Head, but music never got my mind off of Windy.So that is why you cry when your pets die,because everyone shares a special bond with their pets.

It's not pathetic really. My uncle had a pet piranha that died too several years ago.

It's still sad. No matter how you think of it.
But I am rather pathetic.
I still walk by the piano and freak out because I think I havn't fed chihuahua for a long time.
