Just putting this information out there even though it was already covered:

You can do this in botht he PAL and NTSC versions of the game.
It is not too hard once you learn to do it correctly.
No arrow keys can be hit, so it is best to do it from a standing still position.

It is basically an air charge up instead of down.

Yeah awesome! You ever completed Glimmer 100% without paying or returning to Summer Forest? With proper timing you can get up to the 1st fly portal (for which you need to climb) when flying to it with the 2nd fly portal. Your time will be shortened very quickly, but it's just enough to get you up there. Glimmer Complete

I used double jump to get here. (jumped on the big gem and then used DJ) I'll try your way.

Yeah awesome! You ever completed Glimmer 100% without paying or returning to Summer Forest? With proper timing you can get up to the 1st fly portal (for which you need to climb) when flying to it with the 2nd fly portal. Your time will be shortened very quickly, but it's just enough to get you up there. Glimmer Complete

Swimming in the air is so fun! I've done it in Summer Forest, but since I'm replaying RR, I haven't looked at WT yet. I'll try it soon.

i'll say once more, for double jump u need 2 buttons it's square , and cross...first press cross and don't release that button while you in the air, then press square(HOLD CROSS AND SQUARE IN SAME TIME WHILE IN AIR) and you wil do a double jump...repeat: hold cross in air then press square...

Yeah it works on PAL because that's what I have. Make sure your not pressng the directional buttons while you do it and just keep trying.

Double jumping is fun. Opens up so many glitches. And I LOVE glitches xD
