Keep in mind that by getting hit by the dual swords at his jumping slash, he will reduce a wooping 7/8 of the max health bar (the bar at 5 relics) -- meaning if you don't have at least 4 health relics you will instantly die from it.

When he holds his swords out slightly, you know he's gpoing to jump. He will jump 5 times, the 5th time, he'll stuck. when he gets stuck, use Dragon time and wail on him, I've gotten 10 hits in at one sitting. Hit him in the lower sections, that is more effective then jumping and hitting him.

I've died a few times on this part as well, mostly b/c of stupid mistakes like falling off the edge.. Anyways, you just gotta keep avoiding him until he gets stuck, then just go all out on him. Use dragon time; you can get a lot more hits in.
