Hmm. I never really thought of that. I guess it's because there's no mentioning of a day going by. But I just go with it.
Eternal Night will probably seem like it's taking place in one night since most of the gameplay looks like it's at night. At least the scenes I have seen.
After all, it is the "eternal night." Heh, lame. I know..

well, guys, it was the same time each of times Spyro visited a world. The times don't change no matter how manny times you return to a world. The only way the day changes is when you enter a portal. so...in reality, we really can't say how long the game's storyline goes over.....

Well, if you think about it all games are based on a storyline.
And most storylines are period of one day.
Then you get to extend the story which brings another chapter to the game.
See how they make money? Each chapter is a game most times.

wait, spyro 3 says whenever you select quit "Our hero rests" or something like that, meaning whenever you quit, thats the amount of time spyro sleeps/rests/eats etc.
As for if you beat it all in one day well hmmmmm, i just think that what summer_forest said is true

I think Summer_Forest has the right of it.

I never thought any of the Spyro games I've played takes place in a single day. Several weeks, at best, is more like it. There are certain day-to-day things that don't get included in most video games that just have to be assumed: taking time out to sleep, eat, rest and recover from battle wounds, etc.

Most games, if you actually pay attention to some of the details, will indicate that they take place over a long but unspecified amount of time.

Well, it all depends on your imagination

Personally, I think it could've taken even up to around 6 months - a year
Just because we could beat it in one day, doesn't mean Spyro did, think about all those worlds he had to go through, all the dragons he had to free, all the talismans to collect, the eggs to save, the dragonflies to save, the dark gems to crush, the, well you get the point

But still I think that the makers kind of get a little lazy when makeing the game or they didnt even think of makeing adventures that last longer then a day.

Be more specific?

He mean's that he thinks it's weird that a lot of video games (Including Spyro) seem to go over a single day. I agree with that statement. Whne I make my game, it's going to be a level a day in their world. Unless of course, you leave for a bit........
