As for avatars, on the bottom of the page, there is a  avatar control panal. You can upload a picture from your computer or choose one of the avatar's from the gallery. Be careful though, as there's a hight and length limit for submitted pictures. If you run into any trouble, you can resize the picture by right clicking the picture and clicking edit. Then, use the highlighting option to highlight the pictuer, and use the tabs on the sides  to resize it
