Hard to decide. I would choose between Croc and umm... Ape Escape. I did have GEX on the list but do to the language and the false E rating. (For I nor my parents knew that seems beyond E.)

Ape Escape (and 2 and 3) are pretty good platformers. It doesn't really play like Spyro but they are free-roaming platformers to a point. It's also a pretty quirky series, what with having to catch super-intelligent monkeys with a net and all...

I agre, Sly is a pretty good series. It's the story of a racoon thief and his gang, who go around making major heists. plenety of things to collect, presents agood challenge, and they made it feel like being an actual theif. I've only tried 2 and 3, but it's a verry addicting series. :geek:

I've heard of Gex the gecko for the PS1. I don't know if it's good or not, as I don't have it, but I hear that it's very fun. Oh, and I have Croc and Croc 2... they're OK, but I like Spyro better.

The reason I got a Playstation 2 in the first place was to play Ripto's Rage years ago...Since then I have looked for similar games, platformer games.
Not a fan of crash or banjo, I think anything any other fans can reccommend is helpful! Amazon as I noticed this last weekend can't suggest them all. (PS/PS2) I had a strong dislike for Tak as well, and felt Vex didn't measure up and was more in the Ratchet/Jak vein. I didn't add "Scaler" as I have little to no info on it.

*Ty the Tasmanian Tiger* (Krome) - The first game is very Spyro-esque, 2 and 3 have new elements. I think that's the closest match. The first calmed me in between Spyro releases...so much to collect!

*Kya:Dark Lineage* (Atari) -Platformer, but with a human girl in a Wolfen land.

*Croc - if they reformated the controls and re-released it...

*Finny the Fish (Natsume) - I find collecting things in this one to be difficult...

*Malice -found this randomly last weekend, not well designed but some good ideas. Main character is a punk girl goddess, gameplay is colorful, eh. It was cheap...

*Kao Kangaroo -
not too much in common, pretty basic game, no real collecting, pretty short...

If anyone else can recommend anything, expand on one, have one I missed, disagree with one I didn't like personally, or suggest other system's mascots please do!
