same. when i was a kid, i didn't even know it was developed by different people - Check Six did an astounding job capturing the original games' ... well, everything, basically. it's just such a shame how painstakingly glitchy (etc) the game is. but just talking theoretically, i'd take EtD over AHT too.

Thieves Den, in my opinion, is one of the best designed levels in all of Spyrodom. EtD doesn't have a lot going for it in terms of redemption, but if you every got far enough to play that level, it was a pretty good shaped level with excellent themes and good music.

@Kurasshu - I'd be somewhat willing to agree, if not for the incredibly buggy (and clearly unfinished) nature of EtD. That just kills it for me. You have to admit, that whether you like the different direction of AHT or not, it's much more polished and well executed of a game.

@Kurasshu I agree to disagree. I say that Hero's Tail is better despite not feeling like Spyro, as there's still many things to like about it. Enter the Dragonfly kind of feels like Spyro IMO but because it was rushed due to corporate meddling, Check 6 couldn't completely nail the charm of the PS1 games, but it was fairly close, which I have to respect.

It probably sounds like nitpicks, but small parts of Hero's Tail really ruined for it for me. I'm not a big fan of the more open-world huge level style, it makes navigating more confusing than it should. Hero's Tail didn't really feel like a Spyro game imo, and while EtD had many problems it at least had a more "Spyro" feel than Hero's Tail did.

Also, this is sad, but I think Spyro and Cynder should have stayed dead at the end of DotD. Imo, it makes the impact on their sacrifice to save the world have a much bigger and deeper impact.

I love the character of Cynder so much, I wish she was in the original trilogy. And this is coming from someone who loves the original trilogy and isn't much of a fan of the Legend of Spyro trilogy.

Good video. You are absolutely correct about my preferred Spyro personality. I love the 'trying to be a tough guy'/showoff Spyro the most. It comes off arrogant, but is my favorite flaw about a hero that means well in the end. Even Tom Kenny's Spyro portrays this a little, but Carlos and Justin made Spyro the character that I most accept. Fyi, Justin Long does the voice for Spyro only in Skylanders Academy. Iirc, Josh Keaton did the voice of Spyro for the first 5 Skylanders games, but they were mostly just used for portal intros and animated commercial cinematics. Matthew Mercer did the voice of Spyro in Imaginators.

Huh, I was unaware of this. I guess now I know why that "I love you" felt so... distant. I still like the pairing, but it could have been expanded on more. Now I'm kinda *bleep*ed knowing that Cynder was reduced to the role of love interest when it was never intended.
