I'm with you. Memes seem to take 0 creativity these days... Not that any of the examples I listed really did either, but I swear those were the good old days of memes all the same

dude seriously though all memes today are complete garbage. base-level "HOW ABOUT AIRPLANE FOOD?!?!" observational humor. sometimes not even that. i actually saw a video once, something like "when your friend says something funny" and it was a completely unironic, almost minute-long clip of people laughing. nothing else.

like i'm not saying a picture of an owl going "o rly" is going to leave you in stitches or something, but seriously and it's like everybody on the internet is just foaming at the mouth over how HILARIOUS these modern "memes" are.
