A lot of material was required, and under that intense schedule the quality of work improved drastically. That’s not what you’d expect and it sounds counter-intuitive, but the music I’ve done in a blazing hurry is the best music I’ve ever written.

i can DEFINITELY attest to this. it's surprising how many good ideas one can come up with quickly, under pressure.

I wouldn't have expected him to have actually played and enjoyed the games himself. Definitely a surprise to me that the devs had a different idea of which tracks went with which levels, too - none of them ever seemed out of place to me. I would have liked to know how he intended it to be.
