where are those people who are always complaining to Insomniac about new games? one of them should go ask them about this.

I don't believe that is possible now. I recently read a comment on youtube whilst I've been on a Spyro 3 glitch video binge that the Insomniacs who developed the original Spyro trilogy are no longer with the company.

actually the game really hates it when i try to model swap during cutscenes. it almost always freezes

Oh, yeah, I would expect that I guess it would be like when changing Spyro's state of animation, which is the closest thing to this that I've done. The game would crash when I tried to get the flying animation while in a level where it wasn't loaded, so the game probably crashes when you try to get a model that isn't there.
What kind of values are the models mapped to? Starting at 0 and up, but only going as far as the number of models loaded into memory? Or constant values for each model, from a much larger range?

anyway, odd O_o i never saw that before, no. at first i thought maybe it was something that appeared when you went into the level for the first time (like those rocks in Winter Tundra with the gems and that orb) but then it moved a bit. i'm not sure what it is.

it disappears at 00:53. and reappears at 00:58.
