I was learning to play on a cheap acoustic with 5 years old strings for about a year now (planned to buy a set of Polyweb Medium Elixirs) and as far as I can tell, I was having great fun with it, it never got boring. The fingers did hurt because of the metal strings, but I think you can get used to it. So I think that the will and effort I need to put into this wouldn't be a problem, expecially since I fell in love with electric guitars when I played one for the first time (my teacher has an old Yamaha which is great for playing Nirvana). Thanks for your opinion, I'll sure take it to my attention when I'll be off to buy a guitar.

And what do you mean by 'sappy *bleep*'?

It's less about the guitar and more about the effort and will you have to be able to play the instrument and learn it.
But besides the sappy *bleep*, these specs sound like the average guitar to me. I have a cheap off-brand Stratocaster that serves me well whenever I feel like playing.

I'm planning on byuing a Fender Squier Bullet Stratocaster (White, HSS AWT), because it's the most affordable one I can probably get. I've seen some reviews, they were pretty nice (from 7.5 to 8.5), they also said it is a good guitar for a beginner (moi).

I just wanted to ask for your opinions if someone has any experience.

Specification:

- construction: bolt-on,
- corpse: hardwood, agathis
- neck: maple,
- fingerboard: palisander,
- bridge: Tremolo,
- pickups: 2 x single coil, 1 x humbucker
- fretboard: 21 frets, medium jumbo,
- 5-way switch,
- controlers: volume, tone1, tone2
