For example in German you have 4 forms of the (der des dem den) for all genders, but czech has 7 We also have a lot of rules for writing i/y. We also have rules for writing ","s. This reminds me I've never learned where they should be in english. I just always put them on places where It feels right.

English has a lot of nonsensical rules (and nonsensical exceptions to those rules), too. it's not a language like Spanish, or something. Spanish has exceptions to its rules, too, but not nearly as many.

I doubt that English is so commonly using in the Internet just because it was made in the US. No, I think that the reason that English is so commonly used is the fact that it's fairly easy to learn and understand in general. Plus there are many countries that have English as their official language, so the language is; 1) easy to learn, 2) many countries use it as their official language, 3) a lot of speak it.
If you'd compare English to Russian in terms of studying it, you'd know that English can be mastered by living couple of years in countries like UK or US, but with Russian.. Oh man, people can live 10 or more years in Russia yet they still will make a lot of mistakes, due to a huge amount of rules that the language has, and sometimes these rules don't even make any sense whatsoever.

The origin of English is interesting. You're half correct. Originally, the language was indeed that of the Germanic Anglo-Saxon tribes, but it evolved to have some French influence after the Normans led by William the Conqueror invaded.

In general. Another langauge i like to learn as a hobby is japanese, but english is a pretty cool sounding language in general.

I also wonder if Anglo Saxon culture that came from germanic tribes, is the reason english as a language developed.
