Yeah, he did. He realized that he was just complaining over the redesign over Spyro, and looked into it after he saw Skylanders's official logo on Wikipedia. It didn't have the cover characters at the time, so he was convinced it'd be good, but now he's convinced that it's a ripoff.

Some people want to put false words in people's mouths to make themselves feel better, anyway. My used-to-be friend put false words into Rockstar's mouth after Grand Theft Auto went from actual sandbox-y San Andreas to linear-story-in-a-big-world IV. He started talking to me again after years of disconnection, and he's glad of what happened to Grand Theft Auto V - he's living the dream in that game. He actually downloaded an emulated version of IV, but since he found it surprisingly good, he decided to give Rockstar another chance and gave up $60 for the PS4 version of the game. He couldn't be more proud of himself.

I'm not sure if LocoGuy will be the same way, but hopefully he'll turn around. He said he'll never turn back to Activision, even if a working hacked Skylanders game came within his sights, but maybe a hacked game will change his ways. After all, he's already enjoying emulated versions of TLoS, after years of mental war with it.

Yeah, that is true. I don't really see why they're all that concerned with what he said anyways. I mean, it's not going to change anything.

I'm aware that not all classic fans act ignorant, just few of them in the fanbase think they can put words in Ted's mouth and pass it on like it's official.

I don't think it's fair to have that mindset towards classic fans in general. People like LocoGuy should perhaps be called "fanatics." I'm a pretty hardcore classic Spyro fan, and I just express that by enjoying the classic games, their music, etc.

It's funny, because I looked at Insomniac's forums, and I saw someone else say that Ted faked his happy comment, just to avoid a controversy that would be on the same level on the one where people used to think his company made Enter the Dragonfly. I can pull it up, if you want.

That could be true, but he did also say that he was disappointed with the previous games, which also would have been criticizing Activision. I don't see any reason for him to have particularly strong feelings about it one way or another; Insomniac has never struck me as being super attached to the series or anything. I think the comment was probably genuine, but who knows for sure, really.

Many people see that remark as just PR. Could he really have said anything else without coming off as criticizing Activation?

Anyhow, the former devs from Rare just recently banded together again for a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie in an attempt to "revive 3D platformers". Wonder why no such action has been taken on the Spyro side of things?

you can see it today in how many long-time fans don't like Skylanders and TLOS, compared to how many still want another classic game after 15 or so years.

Well many people also want Final Fantasy 7 remake, Resident Evil 2 remake... you name it. Even though the point is back then new ideas flourished, the fact that people want these stuffed with better graphics speaks for itself that people dont wanna move on and try something new. It would be pretty cool if there would be more 3d platformers on PS4 or Xbox One for example, like new games.

I sorta liked TLOS though, i mean atleast the third with Cynder!
But the classics are mostly the cozy ones that one can play ^^

I think new companies should build further on Spyro. I mean if one compare Mario games on Super Nintendo.

With the new ones. I mean sure its fun to play with many, but remakes are usually what it goes too. Lack of new ideas i think. Which is why i think its better for other companies to give new fresh ideas to the series rather than making the same thing over again in terms of Spyro. But the PS1 is pretty cozy for what it is ^^
