Same, any studying or learning I plan to do from here on out will be self taught and enforced, like what 36 was saying he does. Even if I ever get a job that offers to pay to put me through grad school I'd still only do it if the tradeoff was a huge raise or something.

As for what I went to school for the answer would be computer science. It's gotten me a decent job (don't worry Swaffy, this will come if you hang in there and keep trying) and a pretty useful set of skills. I very nearly minored in history, not because I wanted a job in it, but because I've always been interested in history. If I could go back, I'd probably take some of the theology and philosophy courses that my school offered since I only took the bare minimum at the time (we were required to take at least 2 throughout our 4 years) since I'm way more interested in that stuff now. But it's all good, I've been reading some interesting books on the topic and several of my friends from school are far more knowledgeable about it (many of them majored in one of the two) and I talk to them whenever I get the chance so I'm slowly learning it.

All the respect for you all who are going for their master's or graduate school. I'm pretty much ready to put school behind me at this point. I actually enjoy most of my classes now since they're not just generals, but I could not imagine myself going back to school for another 2-4 years... not too mention how expensive college is in the States. :\

That's really cool. Not a lot of people choose math it seems! Have you ever thought about going in to teaching? Good math teachers are hard to come by and it seems like schools are always looking for them. One of my friends that I've been in school with since elementary school is studying math education.

I'm actually considering education but I haven't made anything final yet. I love talking about maths to people but I think I'd make a terrible teacher ahaha And I think I agree, it's hard to teach maths and quite often maths teachers just aren't good enough, I was lucky enough to have some very good maths teachers in my school to help me get to where I am today though

I'm studying maths at university, in my first year, loving it so far. It's so overwhelming to begin with butt you get used to it after a while. It's all worth it if you're doing a subject you love, though. I'm taking a 4-year masters degree course, no idea what I'm gonna do with my degree when I'm finished though.
