I think the strongest influences on Mass Effect were Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. They even hired a lot of actors from each as voice actors in the games.

Yeah. There were lots of similar parts i saw in that movie, and when i played Mass Effect.

The one from 2001 called Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

I mean there are lots of things in that movie that made me think of Mass Effect.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the director of the movie. Was also the one who also was responsible for making most of the FF7 game. Story and the game as a whole. Reason to why its such a good game
