It really depends on where you live and what religion you practice. Darwin is derived from the word Darwinstein, a word that has unfortunately been erased from our language. Created in 1859, Darwinstein meant to be a person who was kind to others. The name Darwin was created when shoe-makers in Massachusetts realized almost all of their names were Moses. When they had children, they all thought of different names for them, examples include Clyde, Remy, and of course, Darwin. This caused a stir in the religious community due to a priest having a dream of a Japanese salamander stealing his bread and crops, named Darwin. Anyone named Darwin was to be dunked in butter and licked to lift the curse they were under. Then they would have to be renamed. Almost all of them were renamed, except for one. His name was Darwin Charles. His parents stood by his name and didn't want it to be changed. They reversed his name and it became Charles Darwin. Of course that didn't work because his surname was now Darwin. Which is worse. A priest by the name of Joseph Miller captured Charles Darwin and attempted to eat him. His parents came to the rescue and stopped the priest by giving him a piece of bread. The priest flew away, and Charles was saved. They went into hiding, hoping the name-ban would be lifted. In due time, it was. It was at that moment where Charles Darwin began his life, a life of crime. Darwin would steal people's pies from their window-sills, and burn their houses. He would cut his hair and eat it as a way of nourishing himself. He did horrible things to women...and men too! He needed to change his name, but loved his first name so much, he just changed his last name. He was now known as Charles Manson. Of course he then tried to better himself by selling his kidneys to anyone willing to pay $500 for them, but it was later revealed that those weren't his kidneys...whose were they? No one knows... He passed away recently, June of this year, while eating his toenails. He went to get butter and slipped and fell on the floor. Trying to call 911, he accidentally called the Poison Control hotline, which sent actual poison to his home. He passed away after breathing in the gas, then he came back to life to wreak havoc with the village folk. They burned him alive, and he was finally destroyed. The name Darwin isn't truly unusual, but if you want your kid to have a kick-*bleep* life, Darwin is the name to give them...
