at least some of the cutscenes are entertaining. a lot of them are just creepy, though.

I've never played a Zelda game, but I've heard a lot about how good they are. This probably makes me somewhat of a hipster, but part of the reason I've put off trying it is because a small, obnoxious minority of the fans act like you just killed a puppy if you tell them you've never played it, and I now associate the games with those people.

If, hypothetically, I was to play a Zelda game, which one should I start with?

Anything that is not Majoras Mask. You save the red velvet cake in the series a little ways once you got more experience with the series Definitely after Ocarina of Time.
