i don't know why, but i just always sort of assumed that Halloween was exclusive to North America.

I'm pretty sure they do. In France we have Halloween too !
But for me it was an usual day, I'm a bit too old (and lazy) for this.

i went trick or treating and i got so much candy i think this bag weighs more than i do my shoulder is in pain

Way too old for trick-or-treating, not invited to any Halloween parties. Just going to be a regular day for me unless we start getting kids knocking on the apartment door. Doubt it, but we bought some candy just in case.
