I'm not saying fanart is bad, just that that statement is a bit hypocritical

Back on track for me too, I very, very rarely feel that video game movies (and vice versa) work. It's only when it's more than a publicity stunt and a cash grab which, let's face it, it ALWAYS is in these industries. Also, I do not see Spyro working as a movie, no matter which iteration we're talking. Original trilogy was great, but it had no story, TLOS covered the entire story already, there's nothing left for a movie to do. Skylanders might work as a cutesy kids movie, but nothing groundbreaking.

Now back on track, What if the Spyro movie was where the GameMaster, some guy who is in charge of the Dimension of No Dimension (DoND) (a space between game dimensions) needed help from all Spyros so brought the Spyros from the original series, Legend of Spyro series AND the Skylanders series out of their dimensions to the DoND to rid it of greedy GamePirates, the creators slapped a case on it, named it "3 Spyros and the GameMaster", and you had your movie? :*bleep*in:

On topic, adapted video games to the 7th art have not always been good, and as a Insomniac Era fan I would probably not like a movie with Spyro

a movie based on the original Spyros has POTENTIAL. i can see it going all kinds of wrong, though. if they hit it just right though, an entertaining movie that's not cheesy, doesn't have too much toilet humor and pop-culture music, and in general doesn't try to be anything it's not, then it's bound to be good.

i'd LOVE to see a movie based on TLOS. that one was already kind of theatrical, it would be perfect for a movie.

when i try to think about a Skylanders movie, all i can imagine is some kind of 3rd-rate B-movie that tries too hard to rip off Shrek and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

All too true. But wasn't there plans to make a movie about the TLOS? Wonder what happened with that?
