<description><![CDATA[<p>i&#039;m not sure i&#039;ve ever actually read or owned the Spyro 1 booklet, despite owning Spyro 1. if i remember correctly, we used to have it but lost it at somebody&#039;s house. this would have been when i was about 7 or 8.</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<p>The instructions manual for Spyro 1 says &quot;gnorc&quot; is the combination of some attribute of a <strong>gn</strong>ome and another&#160; of an orc. I think it was short temper and bad attitude if I remember right; it&#039;s been awhile since I&#039;ve read through it. </p><p>&quot;Nexus&quot; is an actual word that has nothing to do with burning as far as I know, so adding the &quot;g&quot;&#160; was probably just supposed to be a play on words.</p><p>Edit: my phone threw in an extra word</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<p>i almost posted this in SPAM, but i figured it had a solid enough base that this could actually make for some interesting discussion. and if it doesn&#039;t, well, at least these thoughts are out now and they can stop rattling in my head.
</p><p>&quot;Gnasty Gnorc&quot; is a giant green thing. things of similar concept and design are also apparently present in World of Warcraft called &quot;orcs&quot;. &quot;Gnorc&quot; minus &quot;Gn&quot; is &quot;orc&quot;. this makes sense since WoW came out before Spyro 1. so, are gnorcs actually orcs?
</p><p>going along with that, &quot;Gnorc Gnexus&quot;. the homeworld that takes you to Gnasty Gnorc himself.
</p><p>&quot;Gnexus&quot; without the &quot;Gn&quot; is &quot;exus&quot;. Google Translate tells us that &quot;exus&quot; is Latin for &quot;burnt&quot;. the orc (Gnasty Gnorc) is torched by Spyro in this area as suggested by the homeworld name. interesting, no?
</p><div class="quotebox" style="padding: 0px;"><div onclick="var e,d,c=this.parentNode,a=c.getElementsByTagName('div')[1],b=this.getElementsByTagName('span')[0];if(a.style.display!=''){while(c.parentNode&&(!d||!e||d==e)){e=d;d=(window.getComputedStyle?getComputedStyle(c, null):c.currentStyle)['backgroundColor'];if(d=='transparent'||d=='rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)')d=e;c=c.parentNode;}a.style.display='';a.style.backgroundColor=d;b.innerHTML='&#9650;';}else{a.style.display='none';b.innerHTML='&#9660;';}" style="font-weight: bold; cursor: pointer; font-size: 0.9em;"><span style="padding: 0 5px;">&#9660;</span>Hidden text</div><div style="padding: 6px; margin: 0; display: none;"><p>something else i could point out (since this whole thread is gripping at straws for content) is that &quot;orc&quot; is apparently Latin for &quot;Orkney&quot;, a group of islands in Scotland. on those islands, as our reliable friends at Wikipedia tell us, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orkney#Geology" rel="nofollow">there is a kind of rock called &quot;gneiss&quot;</a>, continuing the Gn trend. &quot;gneiss&quot; without the &quot;gn&quot; doesn&#039;t seem to mean anything. </p></div></div>]]></description>
