In fact, I'm surprised people who worked on the original Spyro games
still work at Insomniac. It's been quite a few years since then. And to hear
that there has been Spyro talk happening this year at Insomniac really
brightens my day. They are still thinking about Spyro, almost as if it's
embedded into their minds/hearts.

John Fiorito basically says that he would be interested in doing Spyro again if a creative opportunity were to arise. Seeing as Insomniac's moving away from single player experiences though, it doesn't seem very likely at all, sadly. I just thought it was cool that the COO of Insomniac is still interested in their old IP.

Almost didn't click the article to read it.

Latias: Well, I feel like Insomniac's finally sold out. Going multi-platform, only wanting to make bland co-op games. I hope Fuse sells badly so they can get on the right track again. They just need to make something new (easy for me to say, but remember who we're talking about here). Maybe they're sick of single player experiences because they made so many similar Ratchet games. I think they've proven that they're innovative enough to make something original and fun.

I found this cool article outlining Insomniac games' history. I really enjoyed reading about the creation of Spyro and Ratchet, so I just thought I'd share.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/09/28/ … niac-games (I always forget how to post a link in bbcode XD)

One section in particular caught my attention:

When I pressed him on if Full Frontal Assault would therefore be the final Ratchet game out of Insomniac, Fiorito paused a while. I said “never say never?” to him, to which he answered, laughing again. “Yeah, it’s fair to hope. Who knows what’s gonna happen? If something really cool came up and there was a great opportunity or a great idea. I would say that about Spyro, too. It’d be cool to try it.”

Seems like at least someone in Insomniac is still interested in Spyro. Granted, he's just one guy, but I found his comment pretty interesting.

I haven't finished reading the whole article since I had no interest in Resistance, but are any other Insomniac fans a little disappointed that their upcoming game Overstrike is now Fuse? It looked like an original idea with some actual character at first. Now it just looks as if its trying to cash in on the hype of Cod and Battlefield as a generic shooter.
