I dont think Skylanders is a new a sequel. Merely a Spin-off.
But yeah not a bad theory

Sometimes I just wonder what's been on the creator's mind really for the idea of storyline and all that.
What his intentions were making a game like this. Developers publish their ideas, sharing it with press and all that. But what have they been truly thinking.

Maybe Skylanders is not a sequel to TlOS officially, but Somehow it still is.

Hard to say. I think it's a different Spyro, Cynder, and Malefor in a different world like everyone is saying. But I could be wrong.

i didn't hear anything about characters besides Spyro, Cynder, and i think Sparx comes in somewhere along the way?, like, i haven't heard about the Guardians, or Hunter, so that sort of conflicts with the theory we have here.

I dont think its a direct sequel and for all purposes I hope not. Its obvious that the game is not centered around Spyro. Hes just a character same as cynder. I just think that after their adventures in the dragonrealms thats where they ended up.

Actually Malefor was imprisoned inside the planet's core in DotD. Once his spirit was freed from Convexity, Malefor awaited for the Night of Eternal Darkness for the Lunar Alignment to take place in order to be resurrected at the Well of Souls where his physical form was imprisoned. After the Well of Souls collapsed, Malefor's spirit was able to return to its physical body and he was brought back to life.

I dont think its that they claim Skylanders is LoS4. It's more that they see Spyro and Cynder's story continuing in Skylanders from where they left off from Dawn of the Dragon.

I would propose that Skylanders is not a sequal, but Spyro's character is. It's clear they went with a more old style platform type gameplay. But there is no mention of gnorcs, gnasty, rhinocs, the sorcoress, flame, ember. But there IS mention of Malefor. And calling Malefor an undead dragon king actually makes sense if you think about it. Malefor's spirit was unleashed in TEN. I don't think it ever says he was resurrected. It would also explain his defeat at the end of DotD. He didn't necessarily die, he bled into a stone or something.
