@Stormy: Agreed. We haven't even seen a trailer or any form of plot details outside of Dory looking for her family, how can there be any evidence it's going to suck? Plus, to build on your other point, I would say all three Toy Story movies had satisfying conclusions.

@Clock-la: It's not a prequel. It's about Dory looking for her family one year after Finding Nemo takes place.

TBH I thought Pixar said they would stop with sequels after cars 2 went down so bed...so do Prequels not count? Is Finding Dora also realy nessicery? last time I checked I didn't feel the need to know who she was were she came from...her back story wasn't needed. I hardly watch Dumbo and wish to see the Mouses History.

I still wouldn't be so quick to write it off as just that, though, especially when we know virtually nothing about it at this point. Maybe they had a genuinely good idea for something that could happen in that world, even if it doesn't directly build off something that happened in the first movie.

Besides, I can't think of anything Toy Story did that left it more open for a sequel than Finding Nemo. It could have easily been left at one movie; there were no hints about something that might happen next or anything like that. They made sequels because they came up with good ideas that worked, not because they'd planned to from the beginning.
