even better: you don't HAVE friends on the new channels! they're getting rid of friends, and to have them "added" you now have to subscribe to them.
throwing the usefulness of "subscriptions" right out the window.

you can't change the color/transparency on the new channels.

so everybody's will be the same pain-in-the-*bleep*-to-navigate mess of gray. backgrounds are useless because they're 99% covered up.

Yeah, I agree. I can actually see my subscribers' videos now.

I just don't like being updated every time someone favorites a cheesy video I
saw ten years ago ... of a drunk driver doing stupid crap while being chased
by police.

Agreed, I'm not a fan of the new channels. It just makes it harder to find the videos, which is all anyone ever uses channels for anyway. =/

Have to admit, I like the new youtube homepage much better than the old one, though.
