If the case happened in my city, it would be big news only in the city, and perhaps a mention on national news. It never would go beyond that, and certainly won't have people rushing to get seats in the court to watch the case, like what Floridians did. The more media attention this case gets, the more jaded people become and will say "who cares?" You shouldn't. It might sound insensitive, but it's a simple fact that there are way more sorrows in other places one should put attention to. I guess the only benefit is to the victim as the above poster mentioned (justice by publicity), but most other victims won't get their cries heard beyond their own district.
But yes, I guess raking in money by publicity is how the US media works. And apparently, people are raving to watch the trial just as much.

riverhippo wrote:

MaxwellTheScribblenaut wrote:

Clock-la wrote:

whats this case about exsacly?

I haven't the slightest idea, but I think I recall hearing about Casey's trial and how she murdered someone.

You're ignorance is showing...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Caylee_Anthony

To be honest, a lot of people don't know about this trial.
