I'm sorry to hear that, Swaffy. My cat, Kayla, died when I was 13 or 14. She was already very old when we got her, but she still lived with us for quite few years. I think she was 19 years old when we had to put her to sleep because of kidney problems. She wasn't just a typical apathetic cat. I remember when my little sister or I would cry, instead of running away, she would try to comfort us.

Another difficult goodbye: I once had a friend I was very close to who I'd known for years. I loved him and would have told him in so an instant if I hadn't been afraid of rejection. Because of a disagreement we had, I decided I had to stay away from him for a while to give myself time to think about things. Even though I thought it would only be temporary, that was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It mostly turned out for the best, though.

My cat recently died. He was showing it for a few months, walking around
slowly and showing weakness. His nose got a black patch on it, I don't
know what it was. He also ate very little amount of food, usually licking the
juices off of the food instead of eating it. Since about two weeks ago, he
was always laying outside in segregated ares, as if he was waiting for his
time to die.

He disappeared recently, and my family never got to see him go. We are
sure he is dead now. We still don't know where his body lies.

He's been a cat in my family since I was about 4. He died at 15 years old.

I've said goodbye to quite a few people. I had to say goodbye to my dog last month, and being with him since I was 6...yah, it was really bad. I've had to say goodbye to my old friends for various reasons, but it is never easy. I'm gonna be graduating school this year, and I cannot believe I am saying this but...I am gonna miss the place.

This weekend, I'll be saying goodbye to the family farm, Nook Farm. I've got a lot of memories in that place. Training the dogs, trying not to be killed by horses, lots of board games, and feeding chickens in the on Christmas morning. Give it another fifty years, and I'd be able to call it an ancestral home. But it's not happening, because my step-grandfather can't look after it on his own, so he's selling up. That's good for me, as we'll get some serious cash from it, and be able to move somewhere bigger, and not be a poor kid among the upper classes for once. All the same, I'd have liked to keep it. Perhaps when I'm forty I'll buy it back, give it to my folks for retirement.

As for goodbyes well its sad to say goodbye to a certin director(whose name seems to be missing from my memory for some reason)whose made wonderful movies before but now is just making utter **** now his latest movie Mar needs Moms(yes that was the name)is just...bad and he this is the guy who made Balto one of my favorite animated movies of all time.

Regarding what John said, I definately agree.

I don't think I've ever had a 'hard goodbye' situation before, but I had
situations where I felt like I had lost a very close friend [lost, meaning
they're no longer a friend]. The only thing I was able to do was lie in bed
with tears running down my face and getting on my pillow, along with
irritating my eyes. I don't have a lot of friends; and the friends that I do
have are close friends.

Band of Brothers. Aah ... Band of Brothers. It makes me sad watching a
man die in the arms of his friend. It's just terrible seeing them die in such
harsh ways. What confuses me the most is why I'm so closely drawn into
watching it. I don't enjoy and laugh at people's death, it makes me sad.

Well I was just watching something the other day. And on said show a man was saying goodbye to the cast because he was retiring. Poor guy really was tearing up he said he loved them and they all shared a huge hug. Made me shed lots of tears. Please don't call me corny even men can cry.

So it got me to thinking we've all had some hard goodbyes to say. I know I've said goodbye to very good friends what about all of you ever had to say a hard goodbye?
