Yeah, his math was definitely off. The only point in buying more than a handfull of figures is just to get different attacks, gameplay style, ect. I doubt you'll have to buy character x to unlock level y.

Your only getting three figurines with your purchase. That's only 3 out of 31 characters. 31/ 3= 10.3/repeating So, I guess getting that much for $70 is worth it, I guess..

There will probably be someone who can conterfeit the toys' electronic attributes. However, I, someone who thinks casual emulation is ok, think that crosses the line for cheating the system.

When he was shopping for a new Bluray player, i suggested that he would get a PS3, because of it's quality. But he said he couldn't afford it. I looked at him puzzled.

it's a lot cheaper than some hobbies. Snowglobes are around $20, and those little ceramic villages people display around Christmastime consist of individual buildings that cost at least $30, and that's at the cheap end. Some of you probably have spent $500 or more on games you don't even play anymore, and I doubt the figurines will cost $10 at release so the whole cost thing is a bad argument.
Remember the first iPod? It has five gigabytes...FIVE GIGABYTES!
Now? iPod classic has ONE-HUNDRED FREAKING SIXTY GIGABYTES! (at the same price. Figure in the inflation and it's even more amazing.)
I recently got an 8GB micro-SD card for $12, when last year, I got a 4GB thumb drive for the same price. A lot could change in price in the next 7 months.
