To the random effects of quantum mechanics, the universe would literally repeat itself until the very small particles of the quantum universe make it unable to happen. This could be as small as changing a single pattern in the brain that keeps him on balance, to something that happens in the future that causes him not to go back in time (not a paradox because it wasn't his cause).

Therefore, the paradox happens finitely instead of infinitely, which causes it not to be a paradox at all!
