but twitter is pretty good though why hate it?

Twitter serves little to no purpose to me. i don't need to know everything that everybody does or thinks, and if i did, the same could be accomplished on a normal social networking site in a status update.

while we're at it, can somebody please tell me why Facebook is so much better than MySpace? i keep asking people and not getting real answers. Facebook is exactly like MySpace [probably ripped off the idea, really] except you can't change how your profile looks.

Solution: Don't be friends with people you don't like...

I'm only friends with 22 people and my family. As long as you don't befriend people you dislike, then there's not much they can do.

Unfortunately I have about 100 friends I have do idea who are.  I friended them for social networking game sites, mostly Farmville.  But I don't play that anymore.

Some of my friends talk for a hour about their farm on facebook.  Then I follow up with, "Yeah, I used to play Farmville.  Then I got a job..."

And, by the way, I watched The Social Network today at the Cinemas, and I don't think I will look at Facebook the same way again.

Social networking is good for what it's meant to do: help you reconnect with people and talk a little. What it's used for today is sort of crazy and pointless most of the time.

You know, social networking sites aren't all that bad guys. I joined Facebook because it's an easy and quick way of talking with my sister, who moved out recently. Twitter is also good for getting news messages and sending out messages to large groups of people at once, for example our FRC Team uses it to schedule meetings and quick memos to all of us at once. As long as you don't aren't one of those people who use it every few seconds, what's the problem?

Social networking is ok.  The problem is that every new network (myspace, then facebook, now twitter) is that eventually it is overrun by people that have no lives.
