It is true, the producers said that the movie had been canceled because they wanted to go in a 'diferent direction' with Spyro. Sp my guess is that they, like they did before (discontinuing the original Spyro series and shift to a completely different storyline in the Legend of Spyro series), will now also change to a diferent storyline.

If there ever is a collection of Lego Spyro sets (I'm not sure how they'd do the minifig) and a Lego Spyro game, I'd get the game, seeing how good most Lego games have been.

agreed. now they have VIDEO GAMES about Legos, and if i'm not mistaken, they're not much different from the originals. [Harry Potter --> LEGO Harry Potter, Star Wars --> LEGO Star Wars, etc]

and Guitar Hero? nope, now we have DJ Hero, Band Hero, Bongo Hero, Didgeridoo Hero, Super Hero, ...
maybe not some of those. but you get the point..

but i swear, IF THEY DO THAT TO SPYRO... i'll probably be okay with it, depending. as long as i don't see a "Cynder Hero" or a "Lego Sparx Adventures" thing popping up. i don't care if they release a lot of Spyro things, i'd actually want that.

URGH that game was good the first time, now there milking it to mutch, same with the Lego series.

But Activision is a tricky game company though. They'll do anything to a game franchise to get money from consumers, like they keep making Guitar Hero games every year.

I have a feeling were taking this "diffrent direction" to serriosly, i mean spyro hardly keep to its word, remember the monster in DOTD that was ment to carry the whole of dragon city on his back? yer i thought so...

But Mike Graham is carry the torch for the Spyro series, confirmed by Chirs Wilson before he left to work on the Crash franchise. If Mike's the lead producer, then it might be possible the next game will be set in the LoS universe.

Actually, I believe the person who said that is no longer working on the Spyro games if I'm not mistaken. Meaning the series really can go anywhere now.

Yup Spyro games will continue. But they said they'd keep the 'story line' the same. For example, Ignitus will stay as the new Chronicler, Terrador will be the new lead of the dragon elders, etc. But it just won't be a part of the "the legend of spyro" trilogy anymore.

I doubt Activision will make any more Spyro games. I hope they don't hog ownership and refuse to sell the series to Nintendo or another worthy entertainment company. Nintendo would bring new light on the series and bring Spyro above his former glory. Insomniac probably wouldn't want him back (they said the fact that Spyro couldn't hold anything in his hands limited the possibilities, but they didn't think about the fact that the adult dragons were bi-pedal).
