Actually, Aura has a point. I forgot where I found this but I'll look it up again. It was a very good rumor that a game site had. I think it was GameSpot. Anyways, Insomniac surprisingly might still have rights to it. Which was the reason Activision didn't base it off the originals. Insomniac denied them the rights to Avalar, Elora, the original Dragon Realms as well as Gnasty Gnorc, Rhynocs, the Sorceress and Ripto. Thats supposedly why Activision made it differently. The game site did not understand why but they had some good facts about it. I read it when they began the legend of Spyro series and the sight said that was one of the reasons for the change. Also, Sony owns the classic three. Even if its redone it would only be for their console. I'm not trying to start a rumor or a fight. I will look for evidence tomorrow.

I think you're on to something. Remember way back when when Activision was questioned about Dotd sequels, and they responded by saying the triology was over, but they plan to still make future games? I remember reading somewhere that they plan to have the new game "go in another direction", but why make another reboot? It's possible that maybe, just maybe, the next game will go back to Insomniac. Also, about the whole "A hero's tail using Avalar" thing, true, but notice how there were no rhynocs, riptocs, or even Ripto himself for that matter. The only point to argue against this is their use of Gnasty Gnorc...but even then, it was only for a boss so it's possible they smoozed Insomniac to let up a bit. Harpuia, be sure to tell us if you find any more info. I'll start researching, too.

True, but we have seen others - Such as Agent 9, Professor, Sgt. Byrd, etc.

They probably forgot about her, seeing as she almost disappeared in YOTD.

But then, Sierra did make AHT, featuring the original Spyro - Before changing it gradually to TLOS. And they still technically used Avalar too.

I'm sure someone brought this up, but did anyone consider that maybe the reason there are no Spyro games is because the company is waiting for the release of the nintendo 3Ds?

i dobt they will bend over for 1 consoul. spyro just shoves games out ASAP thats why DOTD was so crapp.

Trufax. ActiVision wants to bring Spyro back to the days of the originals. They're still in what I'd call a corporate battle.
