no offence but the old spyro was'nt to fussed on story line to suddenly making the story line to confuzing like adding him in the pest ECT ECT will just ruin things i think it better if they just make it so its like one affter anover...

Your exsample sucks. RAC was a trilogy so ofcorse QFB will be in the middle.

And what effect would it have been set before YOTD?

What if insomniac made 1 final spyro for old times sake it would be a game that took place right after ripto's rage/gate way to glimmer but before YotD (kinda like ratchet and clank quest for booty right after ToD and right before ACIT) something like that. Would you like or hate this idea??
