Personally I think it's all been over since the third Spyro game. When a game changes companies, technically it's no longer being made anymore. That always happens.

((I'm still in shock that they are actually making a Spyro movie, I would have never seen that coming... It's a pity it won't be like the original 3 Spyro's.))

Neptunes is out in Japan this year
White knight chronicles 2 had just started getting trailers out

you say TLOS was "that bad" well I had no problem with TLOS the first 2 and many otheres i knoww felt the same. it was just DOTD that was the bad apple. the fan base is quite odd for spyro but here are the 3 mains...

there are many who love spyro in genral then i'd say its them who loved spyro but hated DOTD next ((I have seen a lot of those fans)) then its them who just hate TLOS i only know about 2/3 of them

just becouse there hasn't been a Spyro game for a year, doesn't mean there won't be any at all =/ we know theres a game in development, and that they are taking a different direction,we just have to wait and see.
Plus I think its better for them to spend more time making a Spyro game, other than rush it like they did with DoTD and ETD.

I guess I don't understand the pessimism. Spyro is just another cockroach platformer game, it may never die. Was DotD and the rest of LoS so bad that it stabbed the franchise in the chest with a dagger and twisted it? When I look back at the Spyro franchise's quality of games over time, there is a nice inverted bell curve that peaks at YotD and DotD and dips at EtD and SOtCC, depending on your opinion.

As a series who is at a peak, I don't buy the "go out with a bang" theory: video game creators and producers are creating games to make money, and if DotD was any improvement from Spyro's god-aweful 6th gen. console period, then gaming industries don't see a dumb purple dragon, they see $PYRO!

So a new game is rumored and of course on the way.

Don't let the longest new game drought in franchise history make you believe that the series is dead. Spyro is on hiatus.

I voted that it's ll over with a disclaimer: It's over for about 2 or 3 years.

There probably will be a new game or something around 2013 or '12 but it will fail.. and then that will be it. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
