well dude...I have played the original Spyro games. in fact I practically grew up with them! those 3 and pretty much every other spyro game ever made on the playstion 1 and 2... I love those old games, could tell ya any detail about them from memory, but... I do also like the new Legend trilogy as well. very much even.

The end is only the end when all the fans give up on the franchise! Even if they are not planning to make any more games ever. as long as there are fans, we can change that. one of us could get a job in video games and might be sucsessful enough to get a crew and do it themselvs, the way weve always wanted it to be... of course you can't please everybody...different tastes and all, But the point is AS LONG AS THERE ARE FANS LEFT THERE WILL BE MORE GAMZ. I grew up with spyro! that's why I'm a die-hard fan...And I'm not the only one out there. I mean C-mon we got a freakin forum and were not the only forum on the net! Spyros not dead yet... and he never will be unless we all die off. and that's not gonna happen for at least another 50 years cause of me and people like me.

Agreed. If there is support, there is more to come. That's why the Driver
series of games is still going. They aren't the most liked game, but still
have enough fans for the games to continue.

And Spyro seems very original, as I have never seen any game where the
dragon is the main character, and even secondary characters are dragons.

LoS Spyro has 15 times more background story than all of the other Spyros' characters in all the other games combined.  The original Spyro game phenommed because it was one of the first free roamming platformers that successfully gave detail to character environment.  Today's Spyro, who may have been mixed in with J. R. Tolken's LotR, really isn't that much different than the personality Spyro had in the artisan home.  The only problem I can see is losing the value of a character as they become more real and life-like much like a cartoon coming to life can be unpleasant and creepy.  But I think we would all be alright with a real life Spyro right?

Fact is, video games now, not just LoS, are trying to be like each other while trying to offer something different. All FPS games use the same mechanics, MMORPGS are literally the same despite setting. Its not the game, but they are just using ideas based on what people like. Even though I like LoS, it could still use the extra 'oomph' with some ideas.

And here I am planning on getting ownership of the Spyro Series once I get a game studio up and running and create a popular game franchise. HOORAH!  :*bleep*in:

Unfortunately, its too expensive to be 'original' in the video game biz. What that means is that, if you want to be original then you better have enough cushion money to bounce back on if your original idea fails. Its a safer and possible cheaper route to stick with what the video game market is considering the best genre to sell. Of course you'll have those fans who don't give a crap about the market, like me, but in reality its  majority rules and minority, well you still have your rights, right ..... <_< yeah who cares when didn't win right?
