Are you sure its cheaper for them to pay all that shipping and send out new consoles to people for faulty ones???

When the xbox first came out, it only had one year's worth of warranty. If you had a problem with it, you would send it to microsoft and expect to get a new one, right? No. They would just 'fix' the problem. Well, it turns out that you have to send it in three times before they will give you a new console.

But wait! Not only did you have to send it in three times, it had to be due to the same problem!

By the time that problem occurred three times, your warranty might have already ran out.

I don't know if they still do that, though.

I don't plan on even moving my console. I have my computer monitor
[LCD flat screen] on top of it, and my 360 plugged into it to get a high
definition out of it. I used to have it plugged into a crappy old television,
but that's irrelevant. Anyways, this arguement is downright stupid, as
many people don't even move their console[s] when they are on and
running. If you do that, you probably have no reason to.

If you want to move your console, be the intelligent creation you are and
just turn it off. There's no reason in moving it while it's on and running unless
the video game you are playing at the time tells you to [which they don't].

During long rides down south, I set my PS3 in the car.
Xbox cables are pretty short. I remember accidentally yanking gamecube controllers during Kirby Air Ride all the time because the cables were too short.
Turning off the console sound like a pretty big inconvenience for just moving the console over. Yea, you should be smart enough to do it, but this is just like the argument with the new iPhones. Those "smart people" will just "hold it different".
At my friends house, he places his Xbox in a specific spot where he needs to take it out (moving it), put the CD in and put it back (moving it). Last time I checked, the dashboard was made so people didn't HAVE to restart their consoles to put in a CD...
A suspension is a tiny piece of plastic. Literally costing pennies to make and install. Sure, some people can just say "it's not a big deal" and ignore it, but that is basically just conforming to what companies want.

If it says, "Do not shake", it's probably for a good *bleep*ing reason. That *bleep*'s on you if you mess it up. I can't think of a moment where I'll want to pick up my xbox and shake the crap out of it, can you?

Dude, did you watch the video? The guy didn't shake it, he picked it up a few inches off the ground and the disk was completely DESTROYED... Disks are fragile, and even if it had 1/100th of the damage in the video, the disk would still be completely dead.

Why does it still continue to cost people money? Because, as you can probably tell, these guys are *bleep*ing marketing geniuses. They minimize cost and maximize profit. Crappy hardware = low price = more profit.
