DOTD sometimes froze the Wii.  Then again, the disc was scratched because I got it used.

For example, adding Cynder as a secondary character in DOTD was a great idea (to me anyways) because it adds a new dimension to the gameplay, making things a little more interesting.

As for the graphics and music: I like both very much. I think that the new design for Spyro makes him look more serious, which ties into the seriousness of the plot in this series (which is a very good thing because I don't think anyone wants a cheezy looking Spyro in a really serious scene). Sparx doesn't look half bad as far as graphics. But, he's not really all that great personality-wise (he can be a jerk sometimes yes), but he's more or less meant as sort of a comedy relief when things get too serious (which is bad because it takes away from the plot's meaning).

Anyways, once you think about it, the LOS series isn't too bad if you get over the kinks in it. I personally give it an 8.8 out of 10.

I can only think of "How to Train your Dragon" for consoles.  Etranges Libellules (DOTD developers) supposedly made it.  I've never played it, but from what I saw, it's in the "worth playing" category.

I noticed a bunch of stuff from Star Wars and Harry Potter in addition to the LOTR stuff.  I think the storyboard people just watched the first Bionicle movie and changed the theme from bio-mechanical island to medieval dragon country.

It's not because Insomniac quit that a lot of fans hate the Legend of Spyro. It's true that Spyro's best games were made my Insomniac, but bad as Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail are, at least they're true Spyro. Shadow Legacy (DS) shared lots of similarities with The Legend of Spyro but at least that was true Spyro, too. They didn't change a small yet arrogant and cocky who liked toasting things as a hobby to a wet, wimpy Gary-Stu with prophetic powers.

The graphics are great? I'm tired of hearing this! If the true Spyro had been continued into the next generation of consoles, the true Spyro would have had great graphics too! Are some people too stupid to figure this out?

Spyro still looks like Gnasty Gnorc's brother to me. And Sparx is ugly too. And they totally ruined Hunter! Cynder wasn't in the original series, but I hate her anyway for everything she's done to the fanbase.

Yeah, you could fly in the original games, and in was much less limited than it is in Dawn of the Dragon. He had free-flight - and I mean FREE-flight - in speedways, as well as in some other sections (remember Gnasty's Loot? And that section in Fireworks Factory where he had to shoot down the Chinese dragons?

Yeah, they didn't have co-op or multiplayer in the original series (unless you count that Bentley level in Frozen Altars) but at least it's not like Dawn of the Dragon. The game is more boring than usual with just one player. I'd rather have fun gameplay and being able to play as a variety of characters - Spyro, Sparx, Hunter, and all the other playable characters in Year of the Dragon and A Hero's Tail - than two dragons with virtually the same abilities, just with different colours.

And I think everyone is forgetting the whole point of the Legend of Spyro - the GAMEPLAY. It's just fight, fight, fight, clear a horde of enemies here, jump, clear another there. OMIGOD!!!!1!!1 Spyro got a new breath power! It's basically the same a before but with different colours! Clear out another horde of enemies, walk forwards, jump, glide, a few more, cutscene, boss, repeat several times, end.

At least in the originals you had some variety. Not only could Spyro do the basics, he could ride vehicles like rollercoasters and UFOs, fly and shoot down things, skateboard...and then you had all the other characters' abilities.

Sorry to rant like this, but I'm just getting really sick of people favouring The Legend of Spyro because of the graphics. It's not anything else, is it? The gameplay sucks and the story is ripped from the Lord of the Rings. Ugh.
