There could be a legend of spyro 4

tbh i might be a little late on this but... there could be a possible new legend of spyro because of the fact that at the end of DotD before Ignitus becomes the new chronicler, Ignitus asks if there has been any trace of spyro the chronicler says each time a dragon dies their name is written in a certain book he said he couldnt find spyro's name anywhere which means he is still alive also proven that you see spyro and cynder flying in the sky together. now if they were to make a tlos4 it might be about at first Ignitus/The Chronicler finds spyro and guides like maybe hunter and sparx that you can play as until you get to the point of finding spyro and cynder. once you do you can have like a 4 player game by playing as either spyro, cynder, hunter, or i guess sparx although tbh i cant think of what he can do. but then the other part would be like you trying to stop someone or something that is trying to summon malefor like as if malefor is stuck in a sort of spirit realm that were all of the spirits from the dead dragons go. and maybe the dragon that is trying to get him back is like some dragon king that can make bodies for the spirits that ask for it but for a great price which is like more power or something like that. but i doubt they will create a new tlos game not for a while at least.

A forgotten detail about Cynder

Steinar wrote:

And then "Spyro's son" is actually the one you see in "Spyro the Dragon" on PS1. Since now he's just having fun chasing sheeps while all the stuff in the past is just in the past etc.

It's funny how you mention that. You just reminded me of this timeline that I made on my personal opinion of the chronology of the series. You will see that there's a whole "purple dragon theory" in there. Something I forgot to mention is that the other purple dragons, in my opinion, are dragons that conjured spells to paint themseleves in honor of another purple dragon of history.

The thing is, they forgot who they were honoring. The "elder Spyro," I'm calling him, has been left into obscurity. The younger Spyro doesn't even know jack about his ancestor, so his carefree behavior is the result of ignorance.

Though, it'd be ironic if the next Spyro game (or series) were made to reveal that the Sorcerer is the young Spyro's father and the elder Spyro's SON. That would be a plot twist.

Best and Worst Things About DotD

I never played any of the original Spyro games, so I have no opinion when it comes to comparisons. But I've played TLoS trilogy, and enjoyed them. Dawn of the Dragon is my favourite of the three. I liked the designs, most of the music, and how you can switch between dragons. Flying was a major plus! Some of the control mechanics were not the best, and the Elites were ridiculously difficult. I enjoyed this game overall, but especially enjoyed playing it with my nephew, and seeing how much fun he had.

And the best part about this game? You get to be dragons! Duh!

What causes the obsession with this game?

i'm looking into the psychology of colors a bit, and it makes a lot of sense in the context of this game.

blue is a color that makes people calmer, and when wearing blue, it makes you look more trustworthy. Twilight Falls is a (comparatively) calm level in this game, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. even the few battles in this level aren't that bad. going back to the trustworthy thing, all the blue implies a non-threatening environment.

red is a color that grabs people's attention quickly, and in certain contexts suggests aggression. red increases blood pressure. the Burned Lands are full of red, and are probably imo the hardest level in the game. (i'd say "series", but you know, every single level in TEN?) there are also a lot of fast-paced battles with fast-moving enemies.

brown represents solidarity and maturity and kind of a sophisticated feel, i guess. that makes sense with Warfang, a city seeming to be built with that attitude in mind. it's also gold, which has obvious implications.

green represents balance, growth, and calmness, which also fits the mood of the Valley of Avalar. same with the blue sky, that color is fitting, too.

the argument could be made here that the colors are influencing most of the moods in the game, but the thing is, they generally only seem to appear *where the story is already portraying that mood* anyway. all of the levels i mentioned already portrayed the moods i described. the colors just seem to enhance them. i wonder if that has anything to do with the "intense" reaction to the game.

that doesn't solve everything (if it solves anything) but it's a point.

edit: apparently there are parts of human brains that are similar to those in reptiles (read: dragons). these include the thalamus which receives sensory signals; and the basal ganglia, which play a part in eye movements, and motivation - literally impulses that cause our motivation to do things. these play a significant part in playing video games. i'm not sure if there's anything to get from that, but i guess it's worth pointing out.

so what we have so far is a game themed around dragons, with tons of nature and open spaces, enhanced by colors matching the appropriate moods, with common brain functions between the dragon characters and the human players. this all leads to a rather significant and dragon-themed experience, but the *big* question is, why did it have the varied reactions that it did? it didn't have one universal reaction despite the psychology, people felt different things toward it. for some this game was life-changing. others hardly felt anything toward it. there are a few people on here who just flat-out hate it. and that is where things are going to get complicated, because that's when things get too individual to reasonably study. i could throw out ideas about that, but like with my last long post, i think i'm going to stop here.

Dawn of the Dragon is full of things like that. it makes sense on the surface, but it just has so many plotholes and errors. the models of the characters look a good 7+ years older, but they weren't supposed to age. the Well of Souls was supposed to be black rocks and rubble, but it looks like an abandoned offshoot of Warfang.

and if he had found a crack, you'd think Spyro and Cynder would have found it first when they first got stuck there. it's just odd.

i refer to the spoiler here which i still personally find funny.
