Unused/rare animations in Spyro 2

i'm 99% sure that i've seen:
1) that Idol Springs animation where he uses that paper as a telescope
2) the Crystal Glacier animation where he picks his nose
3) the Metropolis robot rattling his suitcase

and i could have SWORN i once saw a Sunny Beach starfish with a frowny face once, when i flamed it. either, i haven't been able to replicate it since, or they do frown when you flame them, and i just haven't been able to get the right angle. i wonder, though, if it was in the process of doing this animation.

i wonder if some of the enemy laughing animations might happen when they kill you? like the (cow? pig?) with the laser in Metropolis. i've never died from one of those enemies. unlikely, but just throwing ideas out there. if i am wrong and those animations are unused in the game, i would assume it's because enemies laughing at you is annoying and there were enough enemies that did that in the Spyro series

it would have been cool to have some of these in-game though. like yeah it would have been a bit distracting to, for example, have the penguins in Winter Tundra randomly squawking, but that also could have been cool. more immersive, i guess, like the frogs croaking in Summer Forest.

Hunter's meowing is... lol!

i don't know what i would have done if the hippo in Shady Oasis would have started yelling like that O.o that probably would have freaked me out a bit.

Troublewiththetrolley,eh? wrote:

My idea for a 4th homeworld is Spring Savanna. The level would be very open with some trees and include Hunters house since cheetas are from the savannas (based on African Savannas). The levels in this homeworld would not be based on its similarity to the enviroment but based on exotic travel destinations. The levels would be Pyramid Scheme (based on Giza Pyramids), Mountain Madness (based on Mt. Everest), Tropical Trouble (based on a Pacific island), Easter's Here! (based on Easter Island), Grease (based on Greece), Bi-Polar (based on north and south pole. Also would let you travel to both.) and Rainforest Speedway (based on South American rainforests).

I quite like this but I believe Spring Meadow would have also been a nice setting.

This game makes no sense

When I was younger, I always felt the castles in the Avalar homeworlds represented the principality of power, and those powers ruled over the subrealms. Because Ripto is so tyrannical, it made sense to me that the civilians would be unrest during his time as lord of the realm they lived in.

However, another thing to note that I didn't quite understand was why there are 14 talismans in Avalar, both between Summer Forest and Autumn Plains. But there are no talismans in Winter Tundra. Why is that? Are the Winter Tundra communities against the concept of power-giving magical items that represent other realms? Maybe they had a realm decree to only use orbs as a way of magic and scientific currency so that it could be easily transferable to other beings from other worlds. Orbs are in the other homeworlds too, but not in as much concentration. Another theory could be that Winter Tundra was recently annexed under the Avalarian flag, and did not have the history, culture and talismans that the other two do. I wonder what kind of government Avalar rules under? Was Moneybags a ruler, or just the steward of the palaces? Perhaps Avalar is a plutocracy, in which the laws and regulations are dictated by the wealthy.

I remember vaguely thinking about these things the first time I played the game, and I am thinking more on it now because of this discussion.
