Was the TLoS action and storytelling well-respected, though? By anyone outside this fandom, at least? The reviews for the LoS games were mixed at best.

Well, it is biased, because that's just one fan and one review. And actually, 7.5 is considered mediocre for video game reviews.

From what I've seen, you can ask most random people what they think of Spyro, and they'll either just tell you about the original games or tell you that every game after the Insomniac trilogy sucked. Pretty much no one outside the fandom cares about LoS, which is probably why there was another reboot in the first place.

I don't think that's really how it works. Even if a fusion game somehow got made and was somehow good, it wouldn't retroactively improve the Legend of Spyro games, so I don't think people's opinions of them would change much.

Game review scores, especially ones from IGN are way off. As far as I'm concerned, a 5/10 should be average. The bare minimum that your game needs to be considered worth playing. To IGN, a 7.5 rating basically says "do not buy."

I reckon 'real' spyro is the oringinal, riptos rage, year of the dragon, enter the dragonfly and a heros tale. spyro LoS is NOT real and nether is skylanders.

Thankfully, with the release from Ted Price saying that they would be open to it, it may be possible, just *bleep* Activision is in the way...
