The main character of the series will obviously be in a spin-off game of the franchise, but not all the major characters from the other games of that franchise.

I know a lot of you are sad that Cynder and Dark Spyro are the only returning characters. But remember that there is still a chance for more characters.
I was under the impression that they would would create more and more characters as time went on. I thought that was the point of the toys? If the game is successful than they will probably update the game and add other characters (hopefully ones like Hunter, Elora, or Bianca). Correct me if I'm wrong though.
I was a bit unhappy with this game before, but starting to change my mind after seeing the more dragon like characters. Plus that gryphon. Any game with a gryphon is a game I want to play.

I think Hunter, Bianca, Sheila, Bentley, Sgt. Byrd and Agent 9 all could have easily slotted into the game. But look on the bright side - at least they didn't muck up any more character designs.
I'm excited for the game nonetheless. I saw a red dragon that looked like Flame in one of the trailers - isn't he on the characters list?

One of the members here has been to the Nickelodeon Skylanders LIVE tour and got to play a demo of the game.
There were two red dragons in the E3 2011 trailer, who knows?
