open your computer (might be possible with a laptop... depends), and reconnect the computter's modem port to a USB connector... that way no tell-tale USB cable on the end of of a modem cable...

No, I mean that I have a firewall that bans those things. I hate them. Uncertain

Here's a tip for you: take it everywhere you go. My Flash Disk is strapped on to me like 90% of my teenage life-time already, the other 10% being when I'm already asleep, and even still the Flash Disk is still hidden under my shorts.

what kind of flash drive do you use

I use PNY and Sandisk nothing else

also to build the hidden drive:

also I cannot get the first wires to sodder to the flashdrive. I am using individual wires from inside of cat5 cables.

am I supposed to not use sodder on the first one and then use sodder on the second one?

is there any chance that you can sell a completed set/one ( with a keystone type instead of a wall plate?)

I like to avoid "strapping on" anything to my body. I guess it's due to how I was raised...

Nice hiding place, but yes, it was overly complicated as in, you could've used an usb extension behind the outlet and thus avoid the destruction of the usb dongle...

That would drive the cost up high.

I tried to put a USB socket in the receptacle but I smashed the connector in the process of ripping it out from a motherboard.

As a father I would be highly suspect of finding a funny patched cord and would investigate that more closely than a thumb drive. (It would be pretty obvious how to use it) It would make me think there was something worth looking for. (Obvious attempt to hide something)
Best bet is don't do what you're not supposed to.
If you just can't help yourself and you have to deceive, hide your thumb in a stinky shoe or winter jacket pocket or where ever .
Ingenious design...you're thinkin'...do something constructive...
Yes, I stumbled here. Ninja
